Electric Zap scooters come in two basic models. There is the 2-wheel Zappino sit down scooter, and the unique 3-wheel Zappy stand up scooter. The Zappy comes in 2 versions: the Zappy 3 EX and the Zappy 3 Pro. They both look about the same, only the Pro model is more powerful with a greater range.
Both the Zappino and the Zappy are well regarded. The current Zappino and Zappy models get good marks from various reviewers. Specifications and pricing for the Zap models are below.
The Zappino is similar to and compares favorably with the X-Treme 3000 models. Note that the X-Treme XM3000 is now the XM-3100. Both look the same, have 3,000 Watt motors and in the basic (PbA) package similar power configurations. Both offer an L-Ion battery pack upgrade. The prices on both are close. How much you pay appears to depend partly on where you get your Zappino.
The Zappy EX and Zappy Pro are unique in the scooter world, so a direct comparison is not possible. If anything, they are comparable to stand up scooters by X-Treme, Razor, and Go-Ped. The specs and ratings for these scooters are presented on the respective previous pages.
The reviews for the Zappy model scooters are mostly favorable,
with little negative comment on the machines. The extra stability
from a lowered battery pack and 3-wheel configuration seems to
be well appreciated after learning to ride the 3-wheelers.
