In terms of style, there are like we said literally hundreds if not thousands of electric scooter styles out there. It's probably best to look at the basic specs and then find something that you like for the body style...in that order.
So, what scooters meet those minimum (and Maximum) criteria? Glad you asked. Just scroll through the list below for a machine that meets the performance you think you need.
Note that Power (Watt) ratings are Continuous ratings. Peak power is often 2x Continuous or more. High performance bikes are on the list for comparison. This list is representative but not comprehensive. There are other scooters available.
Electric road scooters can keep up with traffic. They need a motor of about 3,000 Watts (3kW) continuous power to do this. This is the minimum. E-Scooters and
E-Cycles use up to 15 kW motors in some cases.
3kW puts you in a 40-50mph (64-80kph) top end speed range. This is about the speed of many main urban travel arteries. There are many models to choose from.
Here are the basic specifications to look for in any model:
Electric Motor: 3kW - 3,000 Watts or 4hp
Battery Pack: 2kWh minimum storage, 48Volts Minimum
Range: 50Miles/80kM claimed, it's usually less in reality
Brakes: Disc front at least
Charging: Onboard charger
