Amp electric vehicles are EV conversions of existing GM model cars. Models converted include the Chevy Equinox, Saturn Sky, and the Pontiac Solstice. The Solstice shares the same platform as the Saturn Sky with Pontiac styling.

Professional conversion was popular back in the 1990s with cars like the Geo Metro converted to the Solectria, and the popular Chevy S-10 and Ford Ranger fleet EV conversions. A few of these cars and pickups are still on the used market today.

The Sky claims 5.7 seconds 0-60, 90 mph top end, LiFePo4 battery pack, 150 mile range, and a 4 hour recharge time using a 220V Level 2 charger. Amp will convert your ICE for around $25,000 plus tax. The claimed range and recharge time seem a little optimistic to us.

The Equinox crossover conversion produces an EV with the same basic specs as the Sky, except the acceleration is likely lower. The Pontiac Solstice shares the same configuration as the Sky and Equinox.

All 3 amp conversions share 2 rear mounted electric motors. The motors combined produce 164 peak kW, and 120 kW continuous power.

Amp electric vehicles are joined by Hybrid Technologies, another EV conversion concern. Hybrid conversions also feature Li-Ion battery packs   with claimed recharge time of 6 hours, top end of 80 mph, and around 120 miles per charge range. These specs seem more realistic.

Hybrid will provide a turnkey converted Toyota Yaris for around $40,000,
a PT Cruiser for $55,000, Pontiac Vibe for $40,000, Mini Cooper (yahoo, no lease!) for some $58,000 and Smart car for around $40,000.

Hybrid will also convert your good condition existing car for around $25,000.

These conversions offer the EV owner a wide range of choices, professional grade work, and a product that will likely hold its value.
